I don’t normally wear a lot of black but when summer comes around I find myself searching for that perfect little black dress. They’re so easy to wear and style – a super easy cute outfit ready to go with pretty much any pair of shoes you choose. I’ve found several recently that I’m loving so I thought I’d round them up here for you guys. Starting with this eyelet midi I’m wearing here…

This A-line dress is so figure flattering. It’ll give you a waist if you don’t have one and downplay your hips if you’re heavy bottomed (that’s me). Also it’s fully lined, under $100, and eyelet. So basically, it’s perfect. I wore this dress with low profile white sneakers to a Sunday brunch a few days ago and am definitely packing it for my upcoming trip to Maine where we’ll be going from touristing, to walking along the harbor, to dinner. That jacket is kind of key if you’re going to be by the beach or anywhere where the temps drop at night even though day time is hot.
Here are a few others that I love (and more in the clickable scroll bar below):
2. I love this smocked maxi LBD – so soft and flowy. And also serves as great sun protection! The material is very light and won’t make you hot. Plus you’re bare shoulders up. I like this one for looking relaxed and off duty but keeping a little bit of allure. It’s currently 40% off with code FLASH, making it only around $60.
3. Also off the shoulder, but in a midi length (or shorter if you’re taller), is this buttoned down option. This dress is very much a day dress – light, feminine and on the more casual side. You can unbutton to show as more leg if you like, which is always nice by the pool or in summer in general. This one is available in petite and for reference I have the size XXS.
4. This Gal Meets Glam demure black crepe dress with short fluttery sleeves is another really pretty option. It’s simple but the pleats and knotted waist make it really cute and it’s very figure flattering. If you like romantic feminine looks you’ll love this one. I’ve also found many of the dresses in this collection to be petite friendly so if you’re petite don’t discount this line right away – give it a try if the design appeals to you.
Thanks for reading! xo

Adding the details of the bathing suit top I posted on Instagram as some of you asked:
This pink striped one piece is perfect for the pool as well as getting drinks at the pool bar.  I love this suit so much – amazing fit and support and big news for any ladies with a larger chest. This is my first off the shoulder swimsuit! I never thought I’d find a bathing suit without underwire that actually supports my chest, particularly since after becoming a mom, “things” are not quite as perky as they once were. But this one does! Totally big news for anyone who thinks they have to have underwire. At only $60, this swimsuit is totally worth it. I styled mine with white shorts and these cute pink mules for around town and then ditched the mules for slides at the pool.
