One of the things I like most about living in Boston is how much character the city has and the beauty of its architecture. It has so many quaint corners and it’s always fun to explore and see what I find. I was in Boston’s Beacon Hill area when I stumbled across the most charming cobbled alley, pictured above. I was so grateful for my choice of footwear because I’m pretty sure I would have broken an ankle if I didn’t have these low chunky heels on. As I always say, city sandals rock.

SKIRT: H&M, love this Ann Taylor version HERE, or similar HERE or HERE or SPLURGE | BLOUSE: ANN TAYLOR similar HERE or HERE | SHOES: ZARA similar HERE and HERE | BRACELET: J.CREW (bought in store on sale and you might find one floating around in store). Another really pretty gold cuff HERE | TOTE: J.CREW

My black sandals are from Zara. I got them a several months ago but am only now wearing them which unfortunately means that Zara no longer offers these online (or in store from my recent visit). I found two others that are really close dupes, linked above.

My top is from Ann Taylor, a classic work blouse that I can see wearing to the office so many ways including with a simple black or navy cropped skinny pant. I styled it here with this mustard midi-skirt because the stripes of the blouse are a perfect accent for the skirt, or vice versa. Any striped blouse would be so perfect with this skirt, like this one, a slightly less obvious color match. I love high-neck or mandarin collared blouses. You can style them to look prim and proper or unbutton to get a more relaxed look. Ann Taylor has several of this style on sale at the moment so it’s a great time to snag these for your work or weekend wardrobe.

The skirt is a classic A-line with pockets. I think most women are obsessed with pockets the way I am. Beyond the fact that pockets are just better for photo ops they have practical uses too. I’m not the type to carry around a lot of things so I love clothes with pockets that you can stuff keys and your phone into – no handbag necessary. The deeper the pockets the better.  This skirt or the Ann Taylor one I linked in the outfit details would also be so cute styled with a lace cami and a long cotton cardigan in the summer. And in the Fall it would be perfect with a heavier grandfather cardigan I think.

I’ve been wearing these nude cat-eye sunglasses on repeat since I got them so I didn’t link them in this post. If you missed it before you can see them styled here with a different color palette as well as find the shopping link to it. Blush or nude sunglasses can be worn with anything and any day so these are a must-have for me. The ones I’m wearing are sold out online but this BCBG nude pair is super cute and  currently under $100. The other pair that I love are these awesome round-framed ones in the most gorgeous latte color, a shade darker than the ones I have on here.

In between wandering around the pretty Beacon Hill streets I stopped for coffee and dessert (of course!) at a popular bakery called Tatte, which was totally packed. They had these enormous yummy looking things that I included a picture of, which I can only guess were meringues! Whatever they were, they have me dreaming of a return visit there. I had a cappuccino and croissant that were both delicious. If you’re visiting Boston and are looking for bakery recommendations this would be a great place to stop by!

Here are some more summer looks I’m fond of:
