I mostly live in casual outfits – dressy casual but casual nonetheless. And nothing finishes a casual look like a good denim jacket, especially since denim goes with anything. The last couple of years I’ve only had this one jean jacket so it was time to branch out. You can see the old jacket styled in this post if you’re curious.

This over-sized slouchy distressed one was exactly the update I was looking for. The fit and distressing are what makes it what it is. So perfect with feminine styles like maxi dresses and skirts, and equally chic with plain black leggings (or this faux leather legging that I love). I always look at the piece first, price second because I don’t believe in buying something just because it’s inexpensive. Luckily, this one fell within my comfort zone of under $100 per item. I was utterly sold and am currently in the happily ever after of denim jacket land.

As far as the rest of my outfit, one of my favorites for casual style has always been a good maxi skirt and tee combo. My olive tiered skirt is still in stock in most sizes and is under $25. It’s not lined but due to the color and weight of the fabric this hasn’t been an issue. For reference, I’m wearing a size 2. As my belly has been growing a little (no I’m not pregnant!), I probably would have been better off in a size 4 but I’m planning to “fake it till I make it” until I get more in shape.

When I’m doing some shopping or running errands I’m almost always either in kicks (or my beloved flatforms!). These white sneakers are perfect for an inexpensive white leather look. They’re only $40, which is good as I’m expecting to have them covered in coffee very soon. PS: the online reviews don’t rate it highly. I think it’s only been reviewed by a few people and the average was dragged down by one reviewer who said she thought the shoes were noisy. I haven’t found that to be the case..just fyi. They also run true to size. Overall, a great basic choice if you’re looking for new white kicks that you don’t have to despair over when they inevitably get dirty. Also, while we’re on the topic of sneakers, I grabbed a new pair of black sneakers, which are super cute and perfect for every day. If you like athleisure you’ll love these. They seem to have been restocked in all sizes and for reference, I bought the 5.5.
My tee-shirt is a few weeks old but sold out already. This pink tee is the exact same style but a different print. It’s the same color palette and so cute with some denim cut offs as well. I also think my outfit would look just as good (maybe better?) with a simple white tee. I recently found this slouchy one that has become my go to this summer.I’ll wrap up this post but if you’re looking for more details on my pink sunnies, check out this post from last week for fit and other details and see this post for a review of my studded bucket bag. Have a great weekend guys and thanks for reading! xo
