THE BEST FALL PIECES FROM THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE
It took me a while to get my favorite Fall buys from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale on the blog but here we are – finally. The sale goes until August 6 so there’s still a little time to take advantage if you haven’t already. In this post from a couple of weeks ago I shared all my #NSale early picks so you might recognize some of what I’m wearing here. I was so excited when I first saw this military-inspired jacket and gold pleated skirt in the sale and even more excited when they actually turned out to be as amazing in person as they look online. Both pieces are really standout and it’s also great that they’re pretty trend-proof.
This velvet jacket is so rich – the intricate gold cord details and the gold buttons on this jacket are really good. My pics really don’t do them justice. And best of all, the fit is excellent. My shoulders are on the narrow side and finding a coat or blazer that will fit on my shoulders without alterations can be a big challenge. I’m wearing this in XS and it fits me like a glove. The sleeves are a little long given my height, but I just rolled them up.
I put three velvet pieces together because I was going for a luxe feel but if you want a more low key look, this jacket is so cute with jeans and a white or graphic tee. It would also be perfect over a slip-dress for evening. It’s just a piece that you can kind of wear anywhere and for me, those are the things that I end up wearing the most.
I’m in love with this pleated gold skirt. The color is so rich and beautiful, and velvet of course is the definition of soft. I’m wearing an XS for reference but sizing goes down to XXS, which is always really nice for anyone with a really tiny waist. Another plus for this skirt is that it doesn’t wrinkle easily – a very big plus for me!
Just a photo of my surroundings. I love city alleys with cool details like this – anyone else? Since I live out in the suburbs, I like to spend as much time as I can in the more urban areas. I get my dose of hustle and bustle and then I retreat to the quiet charm of my neighborhood.
I also bought and love (it seems I have a velvet addiction) this gorgeous rose dress that’s perfect for a dressy night out or a cocktail event where everyone else is in black. Love the color of course, and the cut is so slimming and alluring without being too overt. And in jackets I grabbed this rich brown suede moto as well as this black raw-edge fitted leather jacket in XXS. The leather on this one is so light and flexible. I plan to use this jacket to extend the wear of most of my summer dresses well into Fall.
