GARDEN PARTY OR MEMORIAL DAY: WHAT TO WEAR

It’s garden party season and for those of us in the US, Memorial Day weekend is almost here! What are your plans and of course the big question, what’re you wearing?:) I’m planning to wear lots of dresses this weekend, what a surprise haha. This was last weekend at a 114-acre estate with gorgeous grounds full of the prettiest trees and flowers – all labeled. Very helpful for someone like me who recently posted carnations on Instagram and didn’t know what they were. I’ve learned my lesson now and am paying closer attention to flower names!
My crystal floral earrings are perfect for summer! They go with so much and are currently on sale for 40% off. The bold style is great for dressing up any outfit. You can’t see it very well in this picture unfortunately but you can get a better look at it in the scroll bar at the bottom of the post.
That’s the main house in the background. It has a beautiful, though somewhat dilapidated, porch on the other side that I had fun sitting in and pretending I lived there. I have a thing with ancient charming houses and am dying to go to somewhere historic like England or Ireland and spend days at all the castles. There are so many pretty spots to sit and relax surrounded by greenery and gorgeous blooms. There’s also a super long driveway up to the house which is a really pretty walk if you’re in the mood. I love places that have the ability to transport you somewhere else and to evoke a mood.
This is the porch I was talking about. You look out to a beautiful lawn with a small gazebo off to the right. I was thinking how fun it would be to have a wedding here.

I was gifted this dress by SheIn and it’s perfect for summer occasions that require a little dressing up. I really like the off-the-shoulder and ruffles – makes for a really feminine look. FYI, the dress is quite light and a tiny bit on the sheer side as I discovered in one of the pictures we took but only if you stand directly in very bright sunlight – a half slip might take care of that.
