WHAT TO WEAR TO WORK IN THE FALL
Figuring out what to wear to work in the colder months can sometimes be a challenge. Great work outfits in colder temperatures require lots of layering. You want to be warm but you also want to look polished. For me, sleek warm layers are the solution. Like an onion – lots and lots of layers.
For this outfit I used a basic outfit formula I often fall back on for work: pants + boots + blouse + sweater. Easy, right? You just need to have a few things in each category and then mix and match all season.
These high-waisted plaid pants are one of my favorites for the season. This pair is perfect on the waist and doesn’t require any taking in. It came with a belt which I took off but you need to adjust the waist more, it does come with a belt.
If you’re shaped like me you know that finding a pair of pants that fits on the hips AND waist, right off the rack, is worth gold. I dedicated an entire post to this last week! These pants definitely deliver on fit. And all for around $25, so that’s a score.
I linked two of my favorite high-waisted pants under $50 below. Really love this style trend and am rooting for the high-waist trend to stick around. I just bought this wide-leg pair for under $100 as well.
What do you think of the time-tested blouse and sweater combo? I tucked both the top and sweater in for a flattering silhouette. My yellow sweater is old but I love this yellow knit mohair sweater for a current option.
For layering basics, you can’t beat a pretty blouse. I bought mine last year from Banana and this year I like this paisley print, tied up to the neck, and this gorgeous lacy black floral.
