After a weekend of playing in the snow and shoveling I’m now nursing a cold. We got over a foot of snow so it was the perfect occasion to break out some serious winter gear, aka flat snow boots with insulation. These boots were sent to me by Payless and I’m so glad that they did because these boots are super warm (and right now, on sale for under $50). That makes me happy because I hate to spend a lot on shoes that are going to take a beating. I layered up really well with my button-down, favorite red wool turtleneck and my warmest puffer. I also wore my new skinny cropped jeans for curvy figures (read review below). If your Valentine’s day plans involve shoveling and rolling around in the snow then look no further for your outfit haha.

I’ve been wearing my Burberry puffer a lot recently. Mine are from last year and I couldn’t find the same ones online anymore but here are this year’s version, available in black as well as a really pretty olive. If I were in the market for a new puffer I also love this Moncler one with it’s berry high-gloss look (also down-filled!). Or for something more affordable and in a more fun color, this Betsy Johnson red one is adorable and under $100 after the discount if you use the code LOVE.

My button-down is one you might recognize from older posts (I wore it in the spring with a silk paisley skirt in this post). I wore it so much last year and because it’s so soft I wear it often as my base layer under wool sweaters. I love this year’s striped eyelet version with turquoise detail at the collar and sleeves. So cute for spring with pretty much anything.

I love my new curvy skinny cropped jeans, debuted here. I got them in Bright Mid-Indigo wash which is great for every day casual wear. These are great for those with wider hips and/or bigger legs. They’re currently on sale for $39.50, no code needed, so these are a no-brainer if you’re looking for a basic every day pair that will transition well into spring. They have a rolled cuffed as well so they’ll be really cute with a tee and sandals when Spring finally shows up. I also like this frayed, darker pair for a slightly edgier look (cut for curvy figures) as well. These aren’t on sale but since they’re still under $75 and I’ve been impressed with the softness of Loft denim recently, I think they’re a good buy. All sizes are currently available in this style and it gets 5 stars in the online reviews.

Last but not least, I know Winter is almost over but these last few weeks can really feel like forever and in places like Boston, February and March can be pretty snow intensive. I think end-of-season sales are a great time to pick up a mix of winter staples and fun items that you wouldn’t want to pay full price for. My favorite Tippi sweater for example is now 30% off with code HEARTYOU in a variety of colors – Lemon Zest really stands out to me. And Soft Shell is so pretty for all year round.
