My floral obsession continues ladies. As we move closer to the official start of Winter I’ve simply swapped out my light florals with dark ones. Honestly, I know we all use the word “obsessed” quite a bit but that’s really the only description for my constant pull towards flowery prints. This particular skirt was even hanging way above my eye-level at Forever 21 but somehow it caught my attention. As is often the case with Forever items, I can’t seem to find this one online but I did find 2 other very similar ones. As always with Forever, the price point and designer knock-off elements are undeniable. These floral prints remind me of this stunning Erdem floral, which is of course way beyond my budget. I’m always so happy to find inexpensive options for my work wardrobe.

The print is really gorgeous and the quality isn’t bad at all given the under $25 price tag. It’s actually lined almost the whole way down the skirt except the last 3 inches or so. The fabric drapes pretty well too. You do see the stitching at the hem, very characteristic of less expensive pieces, but for a winter work piece that’s going to get snowed and rained on, this doesn’t bother me very much. If you like dark florals, this one from Boohoo is also worth checking out though the sizes are limited.

My turtleneck sweater from Asos is really soft and a little weightier than the Club Monaco cashmere-blend turtleneck I always wear (you can see it in this post). I like it for cooler Fall and Winter days and also love that it has v-shaped split sleeves which adds a little detail to an otherwise basic piece. If you’re not into wearing so much black (which I’m not normally either), this skirt also looks really pretty with either a peach knit, chunky white cable knit sweater, or this soft forest green turtleneck.

My boots are the first of my winter footwear purchases – very basic and utilitarian but still cute and best of all, part of the Nordstrom sale going on right now. Black knee high boots are an absolute must-have for this season if you like having neutral pieces that can go with many outfits. These boots are currently on sale at Nordstrom for barely over $100 so they’re a really good deal. I found them to run small and had to size up to a US 7 from my normal boot size of US 6. I like the stacked brown heel too and the leather is exceptionally soft for such an inexpensive boot. If you have narrow calves and ankles you may not like this boot – I have very wide calves and found this boot to be a god-send.

‘Tis the season of scarves for sure and I’m a sucker for any kind of black/white combo scarf for some reason. This one is over-sized for Petites and gives you a lot of material to tie around your neck several times but not quite as big as a blanket scarf. This is a huge plus for me because most blanket scarves just swallow me up and layering because practically impossible.

Hunter or forest green has been another recent addiction for me. I ordered this adorable plaid bag and can’t wait to see if it’s as cute in person as it looks online. My bag is from Zara (linked above). This top-handle style gets me every-time and I really love the simple classic lines of this satchel.
