A METALLIC SKIRT FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND AFTER
Well, Christmas is over and the holiday season is almost at an end. I didn’t post any classically “festive” outfits this season because I didn’t really wear any. This year, to dress up for the holidays, I made really good use of my evergreen wardrobe staples, like my metallic skirt and animal prints. And I’m really proud of myself for it. I really wanted to buy this velvet leopard dress but since I have so much leopard already, I held off…but isn’t it perfect?
A metallic skirt works so well for parties or get-togethers. I love this metallic plisse midi skirt for everything from the office party to New Years Eve. Or this gold pleated skirt with uneven hem. You could style it very simply with a black turtleneck or go bold with something more statement.
If you have a flair for the dramatic you might like this show-stopping blue metallic skirt. For family gatherings I’ve been styling my metallic skirts with chunky oversized knits like this sweater or for dinner out it’s easy to pair them with a cami and coat. I also wear them to work with an oversized blazer like this awesome gold button forest green jacket.
This is a great time to build up your winter wardrobe as well since in the retail world the attention is already shifting to next season and winter items are being heavily marked down. I know I get some of my best scores in the days between Christmas and New Years so watch those sales. My dad coat for example is heavily marked down and it comes in several other colors.
Thanks for stopping in and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas day! xo

Such a cozy ensemble dear. Loving the white sweater underneath, such a great contrast for the blue sweater.

Seems we share the same love for metallic pleats. I wore a pink metallic skirt with a teddy coat for Christmas and first days of the new year too.
