COLORFUL STRIPES: A-LINE MIDI DRESS

Colorful Stripes for Spring

I find myself heading to the park often on warm days and I think everyone else in Boston had the same idea this week! This colorful dress is the perfect outfit for any of my favorite things to do in the city – brunch at the Taj, strolling through the park, a little window shopping and a stop for a cappucino at Tatte, which is only a 5 minute walk from the Beacon Hill end of the park. All outfit details are linked at the bottom of the post!

So if you like color or stripes, you should jump on this dress while the promotion lasts! Keep in mind that this promo code only works if you’re reading on Easter weekend (the regular price is $159 without promotion –  always good to check the site as there may be a different promotion running)The weight of the fabric is really nice for spring – heavy enough to have a little structure but light enough to have movement. The waist tie and A-line cut make it so flattering on all figures, particularly ladies with curves, plus it has pockets!

Tassels are majorly in and these statement earrings caught my eye right away. The tomato red color goes well with my wardrobe of brights but also works as a great pop of color if you tend to wear neutrals. The color is a punchy orange-red that instantly makes jeans and a tee look polished. It also comes in a dark green that I love.

Colorful stripes are really in right now so it’s not surprising that Ann Taylor brought this print back. It’s very similar to last year’s multicolored stripes, which I also bought! You can see the print here. I like the new addition of yellow and olive in this one. A little shrunken fatigue jacket would toughen this dress right up if classic feminine looks aren’t your cup of tea. As far as shoes, these yellow sandals would have made a fun alternative to my pale pink ones. If you like flats, how adorable are these suede multi-band ones in yellow curry for under $100!

Although I’ve lived in Boston for several years now I’m still not tired of the beauty of this city and its architecture – easier to appreciate now that the snow is finally all gone. It’s a great city to walk around in so comfortable shoes are a must. I don’t often wear flats so for heavy walking days I tend to stick with low-heels, block-heels, or a platform, like in my trench dress post.
