DRESS | VINCE CAMUTO (old), similar SANDALS | BAG | HAT (now on sale for $10)
I finally made it to the Berkshires and it’s gorgeous. If you haven’t been, you should definitely go, particularly if you happen to live in the New England or New York area. It’s such a quick and scenic drive! I’ve included the details on my dress as well as my trip, including the cutest towns in the Berkshires, and the best restaurants/cafes and ice-cream.

This maxi dress is my favorite right now. What I love about it most is that it gives you that hour glass shape. That’s good design! It actually just went on major sale and is now under $30 so I suspect sizes will go fast. The material is really beautiful – light enough for summer but heavy enough to be flattering on any bumps and jiggles. It has so many pretty design elements. I love the button front, the drawstring waist, the side slit, the strappy back, and the fluttery off-the-shoulder straps. You have to go with a strapless bra  (or no bra) on this one which I generally don’t like, but it’s totally worth it. I’m wearing the regular missy XS size and wore it with heels but the dress is also available in short or petite sizing if you want to wear it with flats. Note, if you have a longer torso, the petite size may result in the dress being too high-waisted.

If you don’t have much time to primp and get ready at your leisure (as most moms don’t), this dress makes it so easy because you can easily dress it up or wear it casually. It’s easy to accessorize with nude sandals or metallic flats, add a sun hat and head out. Speaking of hats, mine is now only $10. I always seem to miss the sale price but you don’t have to – that’s what blogs are for, right?

The Berkshires are the perfect place to unwind. And this might sound funny but it has some of the best air in the country! We spent most of our time in Lenox but also visited Lee and Stockbridge and all three were so charming with slightly different vibes. If you’re choosing which town to stay in, pick Lenox if you can.
If you enjoy history, you’ll love it in the Berkshires. There are so many ancient buildings that have been preserved. Also, they have the cutest libraries! I didn’t go inside any but all three towns had the most charming looking libraries that I was dying to go inside and check out.
As far as places to eat, Haven was my favorite for breakfast, lunch and coffees. I had pancakes for breakfast there one of the mornings and they were awesome. For a quick to-go situation, check out Bagel & Brew which is right across from Haven. If you’re an ice-cream fan, I really liked The Scoop – I had the Coconut Chunk flavor…sooo good!
If there’s a historical mansion to be found anywhere you can bet I’ll be there. The Mount is a famous mansion in the Berkshires. It was home to author Edith Wharton who built it in 1902. I didn’t recognize her name until I looked it up and saw that she wrote “Age of Innocence”. Have you read it? The grounds are so beautiful. You can see a little of them here, including the main house in the background and beautifully landscaped gardens with the cutest pond with fountain. It’s also supposed to be haunted but I didn’t stick around long enough to discover the macabre side of the estate! You can read more about it here if you’re interested.
