Little Luxuries Self-Care and Gift Guide

LITTLE LUXURIES | FALL 2020

Everyone loves little indulgences. You know, those little luxuries that we wish someone would gift us and we rarely buy ourselves? These days we’re all spending more time at home, so those little indulgences are even more important. I find that the tiniest touch of luxury in daily life, like satin sandals, can have a major mood-boosting effect. So here are a few little luxuries whether for yourself or someone else, because the holidays are only a few weeks away!

COZY SLIPPERS | We’re approaching cold weather now and there is nothing better than having warm feet at home. If cozy feet don’t translate to hygge, I don’t know what does! These knit slippers are super warm and go with any pajama print so naturally I grabbed those. I also bought several of the tartan and pom mocs below for gifting purposes.

STYLISH SOCKS | These chic wool-blend floral socks are such an easy to elevate your style with basically no effort. If you’re wearing pants or jeans, just make sure you show a little bit of ankle and let these socks do the rest of the work. And of course they look amazing with skirts or dresses, peeking out of sneakers or ankle boots. You can also tuck your wide leg pants into these if you really want to take it up a notch. Either way, I promise they won’t go unnoticed. Yes they cost $60 but can you really put a price on happiness? I frequently ask myself that question.

A CHIC HAT | While we’re in accessories mode, let’s talk about the elation inducing qualities of hats. Hats induce elation you say? I definitely think so! They keep your head warm, they make you look super fly, AND they hide bad hair days. What more could you want from one little clothing item! I linked all my favorites in the shoppable scroll bag below. Also, this little pink bucket hat is totally on trend but will also make you stand out in a crowd. Orrr..how much do you love this little Ganni number?

A YUMMY CANDLE | This is kind of an obvious category in a post called Little Luxuries but it’s an essential one. Candles can really make or break a vibe, and they can really affect mood, don’t you think? These days we all spend so much time at home, a little ambience is totally necessary. I started burning this subtle rose scented candle in the evenings and it definitely relaxes me and helps me shed the stress of the day.

Also – this hilarious candle line that I came across in Nordstrom’s daily drops! Full disclosure, I have no idea how they smell because they haven’t arrived yet but the captions alone are totally worth the $26. I grabbed some of the 2020 “Smells like WTH and WTF” ones (see above). I really hope they don’t actually smell like WTH and WTF, but for under $30 I’ll chance it.

A STYLISH CATCHALL | This gorgeous blue speckled trinket tray is perfect for dressing up any nightstand or dresser. I love it as a place to plop my earrings of the day.

SNEAKERS | I think with the advent of COVID we’re probably all wearing more “flatwear” than we would like. At least I know I am. I see myself reaching more and more for sneakers every day and definitely need to up my sneakers game. These Nike ones I linked a few months ago have definitely gotten a ton of play but it’s time to add some more into the rotation. I love the low profile simplicity of these V12s, especially with easy monotone outfits. Then there’s these uber minimal slide on shoes that are perfect for dashing out the door for anything and everything. These are definitely all season as well.
