I had another one of those days when you head to Target for paper plates and leave with a cart full of clothing. This
off the shoulder maxi dress with pretty pink blossoms was one of the first things that made it into my cart. It’s so soft I could sleep in it! The blue is universally flattering and the tiny pink flowers make it perfect for summer. It’s also under $30 which makes it even harder to resist. The sleeves don’t slip off and the smocked top of the dress is really supportive if you want to skip the bra. Also it has pockets!
The
Xhilaration brand works really well for smaller frames and petites. I’m wearing the XS here and it’s perfect. This dress is still a tiny bit of a floor grazer if you wear flats but it’s an easy hem job if you want to bring it up a bit, or of course just wear something with a little bit of a heel. Another option is to belt the dress and tuck some of the fabric under to reduce the length – just one of my petite hacks I’ve learned over the years of shopping off the rack and being too lazy to tailor. While searching for this dress online I also found a
black version which looks so super cute. I can think of ten different occasions it would be perfect for, including a walk on the beach! I also love this
cold shoulder ruffle dress, which comes in red and black, both of which are favorite colors of mine for summer. Both dresses are currently on a buy one, get the second 50% off promotion. If you are catching this post on memorial day weekend, you can also get 20% off by using the code MEMDAY.
So many goodies from Target, I was in budget shopping heaven. I’ve linked a few of my finds in the shopping scroll bar below and below that you can find a review of my current favorite everyday bag!
TARGET FINDS:
This signet bag from J.Crew has quickly become one of my everyday favorites. I wanted to do offer a little bit of a review here because this bag is an exceptional buy for daily use, especially right now with the promotional price of $70 with code SWEET. The leather is incredibly soft and rich, and the shape of the bag is so versatile. This bag is also really roomy. I can fit my phone, wallet, snacks for my daughter, keys of course, and my largest sunglasses case (some sunny cases are so enormous and hard to fit into mini-bags). You can wear it on the shoulder or cross-body. It has an adjustable strap, which means it’ll work for your frame no matter what your height. I’m only 5ft 1″, so I had to punch an additional hole to make the length work perfectly but that’s another common petite hack. If you’re petite and don’t own one, it’s well worth it to purchase a belt hole-puncher. The one I use is under $20 and has several hole sizes so you can use it to make different sized holes – just look up belt-hole puncher on Amazon and you should find a bunch.
