PAISLEY MAXI DRESS & WHAT TO SHOP FROM THE BR SALE
As you probably saw from my last two posts, I’ve been on a BR tear. I love their petite dresses, particularly their Spring/Summer selection. This paisley maxi is both pretty and supremely comfortable at the same time. The fit is really forgiving around the belly and lower body, really helpful since I have a few winter pounds to lose – I bought it in Petite XXS. There were a few pieces I waited to buy and I’m happy I did because right now everything on the site is 40% off – no exclusions, so it’s time to shop!
As with almost everything I buy, this dress is incredibly versatile. It’s easy to wear casually, for weekend brunches, on vacation, or even for a dressier occasion like a beach wedding. The lining is the most beautiful blue – so pretty that I find myself flipping over the dress for no reason except to see the vivid cobalt. With the 40% off promotion with code SPRING it’s under $100.
I’ve been adding new accessories to my wardrobe for spring/summer and one piece I buy every spring is a walkable neutral sandal. These cognac block-heel sandals are great for city walking and go with everything. The heel is high enough to add some length to my short legs. The criss-cross front straps are a cute detail and no ankle-strap means more leg-lengthening. I also like wearing maxi dresses with flats and love these buttery soft ones for every day.
You can’t get through vacation or summer without a wide-brimmed straw hat and I love this white one for it’s simplicity. It goes equally well with prints or neutrals and it’s a great accent for a simple black bathing suit. Speaking of bathing suits, I’m on the hunt for a one-piece that will fit my long torso. I was going to give the J.Crew long torso ones a try. If there are any long-torso’d readers who’ve had luck finding a one piece they like, please share – there’s a comment box at the end of the post! I love hearing from readers so please say hi.
In the Spring I always carry a light layer around with me because I get cold so easily. I love loose knit sweaters that will layer easily over any outfit and are can comfortably be stashed in your tote. Mine is old (from Splendid) but I found this one for under $40 from Modcloth that looks very similar. The open knit gives the whole look a sheer gauzy feel.
On to what to buy from the BR sale: My number one pick is this gorgeous red floral maxi with bow-tie neckline. I love the vibrant colors and pretty neckline. You can’t see the bow very well in the scroll bar below until you expand it. All regular and petite sizes are still available right now but I’m guessing, not for long. Also, this gorgeous fern-print dress. I love the print and it fits right into any weekend or holiday setting. If you’re looking for budget-friendly but chic spring accessories, this square green silk scarf is one of my favorites, now under $25 – I wore it here a couple of weeks ago. You can also see the gorgeous floral print shirt-dress from the bar below in the same post. It’s one of my favorite dresses for work this Spring.

Yes Trina, love your outfit and post! All pieces are really looking perfect and comleting each other ! My focus on the hat at the moment – it is time to change my favorite winter black one for the white, like a rabbit winter wear :)) Have a lovely evening and new inspiribg week!
