PIECES YOU NEED FOR NOW THROUGH FALL

I can feel the faintest chill in the air today…Fall is coming! My goal with my wardrobe is to make the most of my summer pieces and wear them as long as possible. I do this across all seasons so my wardrobe is usually a good mix of year round items (pleated skirt and the softest layering tank) coupled with some classic seasonal items (like a simple black cashmere sweater) and a few of-the-moment pieces (my polka dot scarf). With a few strategic wardrobe updates you can be Fall ready with relatively little expense and effort.

For inner layers in the Fall and Winter I almost always start with a simple tank or a silk cami for added warmth. My favorite lately has been this scoop neck available in black and white – I have both. I love this one because it doesn’t lose its stretch even after hours of wear, which is very important to present a finished look when you have it under your sweater or other top.

For a classic cashmere sweater under $100 you can’t go wrong with this round neck 3/4 sleeve option. It comes in a billion colors if you’re a cashmere fan and want to keep several on deck. Besides the standard neutrals, the pink is my favorite!

This ivory pleated skirt is the perfect neutral for Fall and Winter and is under $30. It comes in a really pretty wine color which is so pretty for Fall. I love a fresh white look for the colder months and it stands out against the sea of black one generally sees once the winter hits.  I hate to be boring and look like everyone else and wearing white is an easy way to avoid that even if you don’t like taking fashion risks. Currently on a mad hunt for the perfect white coat…I’ll keep you guys posted on that one.

My polka dot bandanna scarf will definitely be on mega repeat through the next two seasons. It’s the cutest and also comes in several other prints. I really want the Greek Gold and Smoky Spruce which is really hard not to do since they’re only $12.50 each.

Last but not least, bow mules. Mine are from last year and still going strong – I’m linking this pair which is almost identical. Bows will always be in style and so will mules so you really can’t go wrong if you invest in some cute bow mules. And the super popular Balenciaga pointy mules that have taken over Instagram are going on my Christmas wish list! Cannot wait for those, even though I probably won’t be able to wear them until March because of all the snow. I also found this plaid mule that immediately made it into my cart because hello, it’s under $150 with a plaid print plus a bow plus crimped heel!

Also I had a few questions about my circle bag recently. The color I have, Saddle, isn’t available everywhere but you can get it here. My other favorite color is light pink. If you don’t feel like spending the roughly $800 on this bag I linked a great alternative for you guys in last week’s post.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
