PLAID WINTER COATS AW 2019

In New England we live in coats for about 6 months of the year. That’s half the year. And a lot of those months are grey. Wearing fun plaid coats has been one way to get through those grey months! It’s a genuine mood booster. Today I’m sharing plaid (like this 70’s vibe oh so cool Ralph Lauren number) but I’ll be back with more on other types of statements coats because plaid is just one of many awesome coat options this season.

This red brushed plaid coat is one of my favorites, especially around the holiday season. Mine is from last year so I can’t link this specific one (you can see it styled here first) but here are a few similars: Rachel Zoe long plaid coat and this shorter length French Connection teddy. And new this year, is this amazing rust plaid coat that is currently on my Christmas wish list but since 25% off with code GOODCHEER I may not be able to wait for Santa. It has all my favorite colors including rust, is super cozy, and it’s neutral. Plus it’s belted. So it’s definitely love at first sight for me.

I also love this slightly different take on the classic buffalo check coat, subbing the black for blue! It’s got such a great relaxed fit and so great to wear with those wide leg jeans. And so good to wear over dresses too. The cheery plaid is perfect for mixing prints to really stand out in the winter. Thinking of sticking a soft pink sweater under it. What do you guys think?
