SOFT TRENCH AND LACY CAMI: PRE-FALL STYLE

Happy Tuesday! I wanted to share this pre-Fall look with you because Fall is only a few short weeks away. Hard to believe right now as we sweat through 90 degree days but as Fall pieces flood the stores the reality of cooler weather coming soon is impossible to ignore. At least Fall fashion is so much fun! One of the most important things in my closet for Fall is light outwear and my favorite style is a trench. I love this draped soft trench for under $100 and was happily surprised that it worked on my petite frame even though it’s not petite-sized. It also comes in Camel, which I might grab.

I layered this over a simple cami and jeans outfit, except neither my cami nor the jeans are really “simple”. This is the perfect example of how in fashion everything is in the details. The jeans are just basic slouchy boyfriend jeans but the wide metallic stripes are super cool and make this inexpensive pair so fashion-forward. Also love that the material is so soft! The cut is baggy so if you have a slim lower body you’ll want to size down. Since I have wider hips and bigger legs, I went with my regular size for the right amount of slouch. I call this my Grunge Chic look!I love contrasting styles in the same outfit so I went with this feminine lacy cami and soft draped trench silhouette over these jeans. The feminine pieces are a nice balance against the avant-garde vibe of the jeans and I heart this mix of colors – dark with bright metallics.Like all good camis, this one comes with adjustable straps so you can control your neckline – always a great thing in my book. It also comes in three other colors (love the Night Blue) and is currently on sale for around $25. A silky cami is a great addition to any wardrobe because it takes the place of a tee-shirt fairly easily and adds so much to a basic outfit. You can even wear one over a tee-shirt if a cami feels too flimsy. This is a great way to wear an even more frilly or delicate cami than the one I’m wearing here. Have you tried this look yet? I’m going to be wearing a layered cami at least a few times this Fall.Another reason I love camis is that they’re perfect for day to night dressing. For work, go with a layered look with your cami plus blazer or cardigan. For drinks afterwards, ditch the professional top layer, add cute earrings (and higher heels if you like!) and you’re all set. I love day to night pieces. They keep my wardrobe lean, which makes me so happy.I kept my footwear really basic here because the outfit has so much interesting design elements – drapes, lace and metallic accents. All I needed was my trusty black suede pumps, which I can’t live without. This pair is the most comfortable pair under $75 and the shoe is so well-made. I’ve had mine for over 3 years and of course a simple black suede pump never goes out of style. Thanks for stopping in and I’d love to hear what you think of this look! xoSHOP MY LOOK:
