SPRING DRESS – FLORAL MAXI

Spring Fever - Floral Maxi Dress

I need a boat to do this hat some justice. Who else loves boater hats? What a great trend. You toss this on with almost any outfit and you have instant chic. And at long last Spring is here and that means we get to wear dresses, skirts and floaty things. I know I  keep saying this but comfort really is such a huge factor to me in fashion and I find airy maxi dresses to be the ultimate in comfort. Especially now that I’m a mom and have to manage a mini, I always reach for pieces that are soft and light, and let me run around unencumbered. A pretty maxi dress meets all these criteria. You’ll find links to my favorite spring dresses, this boater hat and these super chic block heels after the pictures.

Unfortunately this particular floral maxi is now sold out online in petite sizes and also going fast in regular and tall. To be honest I’m totally taken aback by that because I only got it a week ago. Things seem to be selling out so fast these days it feels like a race. I’m prone to hemming and hawing when it comes to buying pretty much anything so I find the speed with which things get sold out to be a little crazy. Luckily there are so many gorgeous spring dresses out right now – I’ve linked some in the outfit details as well as included a linked slide show below. I hope they also restock the Petite version of my dress because it’s the bomb.

My block-heel sandals are amazing. They make walking the city in heels a total breeze and required zero breaking-in time. I’m going with these or my new gold flat-forms (coming soon on the blog) for anything that requires a lot of walking this spring/summer. I wear sneakers but only occasionally because I’m flat-footed…and because heels make short legs look a ton better! So comfortable heels are a must. These are also a neutral and classic style that can be worn beyond this year which is always a selling point for me.

I wore my red cross-body bag with this dress because I’m in a blue-with-red phase but white or camel are always perfect picks also. My cotton cobalt cardigan (worn here for work) is also on sale.  It’s a super light weight layer that I user across all seasons to add some structure, color or as a layering piece under a heavier layer. I like that it’s fitted and short but not cropped. The length makes it easy to tuck it into skirts when needed, or wear it over and belt it. This gets so much wear it’s almost time to replace it and for this year I love all the neon colors it comes in as well.

Thanks for stopping in, have a happy weekend and hope to see you soon!
