Hi everyone! This is going to be a very quick post because I’m on vacation – finally! It’s been so long since we went anywhere that involved a flight because I dread having to pack for my three-year old and worry about sitting on a long plane ride with her. But it had to happen at some point so here we are, headed to Los Angeles. I’m so excited to go back and see if things look and feel different to me now that Boston’s where I live. I’ll be Instagramming our trip so if you’re an LA native you can see it through the eyes of a visitor and if you’re never been to LA you can see my favorite stops there: pool, beach, cupcakes, designer cappucinos and shopping…in no particular order!

This post shows an easy spring outfit. I’m a big fan of ensembles that require minimal effort but are still stylish and if you guys feel the same, here’s an easy outfit formula:

DRESS: ANN TAYLOR (old). Also love and similar style are THIS and THIS | CARDIGAN: similar at NORDSTROM | BAG: VINCE CAMUTO similar HERE in Hazelnut | WEDGES: VINCE CAMUTO last season. Similar HERE in the Sandy Lane color.

For this look all you need is an A-line dress, any length that hits between knee-length and midi works. Then throw on a cardigan in a color that compliments the dress. If the dress is a solid color you can play with contrasting colors with the cardigan or go with a monochromatic look and choose a cardi that’s the same color or the same tone. If it’s a print, choose one color from the print and make your cardigan that color. For accessories, white and camel work with everything in the warmer months.

STYLE TIP: I knotted the cardigan to create more waist definition and knotting it slightly higher than your natural waist will create the illusion of longer legs.

When I’m on mommy duty I almost always carry either my LV Neverfull or another similar tote that can hold a ton, or if it’s not a long outing I take a cross-body bag so I can be hands-free. There’s nothing quite so precious as holding your baby’s hand and taking a walk together.  Here we took my daughter to Endicott Park (in a suburb of Boston) and my husband and I had the best time disconnecting from our phones and enjoying the fresh air while she got to see “horsies”.

For footwear I love the sneakers with dresses look but honestly it doesn’t flatter my figure with a dress of this length. I’m also flat-footed as you may have heard me mention before and find low heels to be much more comfortable than flats! So I tend to choose low wedges in neutral tones. I love Vince Camuto shoes and their wedges are ultra comfortable. I also like the low ankle-strap around these because the lower the strap the more elongating the shoe is.

I also added a bandana scarf for a little something extra instead of a necklace. I’ve been loving this trend and more than the print itself I just really like smaller scarfs and will be looking for more to add to my bandana ones.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
