SPRING SHOWERS: BLUSH PINK TRENCH AND BLUSH SANDALS

 Blush Looks

Happy Thursday everyone! Just a quick post today to share this blush-based rainy day look. As you might know from having seen so many trenches on my IG feed, I love trenches! A few weeks ago I was looking for a blush trench that was on the inexpensive side and came across this amazing one, available in petite and regular sizing – sold. Unfortunately this particular coat is sold out in Petites but I’ve linked a few others below.

TRENCH: ASOS SKATER MAC (petite size is sold out again) or I also love this one HEREHERE (not sure how petite-friendly this one is though) or HERE if you want a shorter length | SKIRT: H&M (also sold out, similar HERE) | SHOES: LUMINATE SANDAL IN PINK PATENT (smaller sizes still available but most sizes including 6 and above are sold out)

I fell for this particular shade of pale pink which reminds me of the Sherwin Williams paint color Anemone, a delicate de-saturated pink that goes well with almost all shades of pink and purple, as well as warmer tones like beige and yellow.  So this will be making another appearance on the blog at some point for sure.

What I like about this look is the clean simplicity. There’s nothing I love more than clean lines. One of the best things about this trench is that it keeps a nice A-line shape while being extremely soft and not prone to wrinkles. This is in stark contrast to a lot of other coats in the under $150 price point which can either feel plasticky, lack design detail or be super stiff.

If you’re in need of something that’s really waterproof this isn’t it. It was raining very hard when I wore this and I stayed dry despite getting water on my clothes but I doubt that would have been the case if I didn’t have an umbrella. If on the other hand you’re just looking for a pretty topper for an extra layer, then this is a great choice, especially if you were looking for a pale pink layer.

Since I was going for a simple look on this rainy day, I chose a fluid mid-weight black A-line midi skirt and a pair of blush open-toed sandals. I was looking for blush everything earlier and literally everything I picked kept selling out, especially in blush shoes – so frustrating. Blush is a fairly classic color and popular every year but in 2016 it’s in particularly high demand because it’s one of Pantone’s 2 colors of the year. So if you like blush and haven’t already had your fix, now is the time to buy!

Quick note on the shoes, these are super comfortable. Very light weight with a low heel and slim ankle-wraps – absolutely perfect for running around.

Have a wonderful weekend and hope to see you next week!
