Navy stripes and pleated midi skirt

STRIPED NAVY KNIT AND PLEATED MIDI SKIRT

I think the last warm days of Fall are behind us and we are headed solidly into permanent sweater weather. The weekend was beautiful, with so much of this amazing golden light. I took a walk on the beach, got my favorite latte and finally had time to pull out and take stock of my sweater inventory. Which brings me to today’s outfit with this striped navy knit sweater and pleated midi skirt combo.

A lightweight navy sweater

This is the time of year when I get the most use out of my light to mid-weight sweaters. I picked up this navy striped knit from Target, lured by its classic preppy aesthetic, narrow cut and petite-friendly proportions. This is from one of the new collabs over there – the Nili Lotan x Target line. Have you bought anything from this collection? My skirt is old but here’s a similar, with a little more shine and perfect for a holiday outfit.

This outfit is quintessentially me. The stripe sweater plus midi skirt combo is a no-fail combination. Start with any tailored knit and then add your favorite midi skirt – so easy.

A few navy sweater options

I like the quality of this knit – for reference I’m wearing XS. At this size it’s perfect both on its own or layered under a coat later in the season. It’s fairly snug so if you want a looser fit I’d size up one. Also if you want a warmer sweater go with this cashmere version, also linked in the carousel below. It’s only about $65 right now with code SHOPSALE – great price for decent cashmere.

I wore it here with a pleated midi in bordeaux, because as you know, I wear a lot of midis! My colorway is old but I linked to a gorgeous beige version here or this chocolate brown one that would work just as well with this top. That’s the beauty of a navy sweater – it goes with anything. This versatility is exactly why you can almost always find a navy sweater in my suitcase whenever I travel.

Holiday Gift Guide

In case you didn’t see, I started a new Holiday Gift Guide and am adding to it several times a week. So take a peek there if you’ve started gift shopping. I highly recommend shopping early given the expected shipping delays this year.

I’ve also uploaded all my latest Instagram outfits to my Shop my Insta tab in case you’re looking for something from my feed/stories. If you’re looking for holiday outfit ideas, definitely check it out because I’ve linked some great dresses. Since I’m only going to a couple of things this year it’s nice to actually dress up for them.
