WINTER STYLE: HOW TO STYLE A FLANNEL SHIRT
SHIRT: THREAD AND SUPPLY, also love THIS | JEANS: GAP | BAG: similar KATE SPADE | PUMPS: similar SAM EDELMAN | COAT: similar BURBERRY
I think we can all agree that there’s not much that can beat a pair of relaxed jeans and a soft flannel shirt if you want comfort. But how do you avoid looking sloppy when you roll out in this comfortable ensemble? An easy style tip for dressing up flannel is simply to balance out the casual vibe with dressier accessories. This slightly fitted plaid flannel shirt is one of my top favorites of the season and is super easy to style. Just pair with your favorite denim, then add pumps + a fun bag, to take your jeans-and-flannel outfit from boring to chic. My night watch flannel shirt is currently on sale for under $25 and because I like this print so much, I also linked this lighter, more fitted version which is perfect for work where mine is more casual.
The jeans have totally been on repeat since I bought them a few weeks ago – I wore them a couple of weeks ago in this post. I think they’re phenomenal for women with hips who like to feel like they’re wearing sweats (but not actually wear sweats). Also, they’re under $75 so you really can’t go wrong. These are seriously super soft and have the right amount of distressing for winter – not so heavy that your thigh gets frost bite in a few places when you head out.
This dark green is truly one of my favorite colors. I bought several dark green clothing and accessory items this season and always get compliments. It’s such a great neutral for the winter and so classic. My bag is old, from Zara (you can see it styled in this post when I first got it) but I found this cute Kate Spade leather bag in an almost identical color and a more versatile style than mine. This one would be so perfect for both work and weekend.
