Elevated Basics for Winter 2020

I think we can all agree that good basics are the foundation of a great wardrobe. Elevated basics like this soft ruffle yoke sweater in black can be mixed and matched easily, and worn over and over again. If you’re a fan of the basic black sweater, this little sweater will make you very happy. And it’s on major sale..I think it’s something like $40 right now with 30% off (code: JOLLYGOOD). It also comes in pink, which is on its way to me as I write this. I’m wearing XXS for reference and the fit is spot on.

A pair of tall boots in a neutral color is another wardrobe workhorse for Fall and Winter. I like this simple pair in a very nice quality leather. There’s not really a design twist here but the leather is very soft and molds to your legs perfectly. I have larger calves so I also really appreciate that it comes in extended calf size. The heel height is also super walkable and it’s on mega sale at only around $200.

I love this Ganni mid-calf pair of boots as well. This boot is the definition of elevated, effortless style. From the colors, to the design, down to the little white triangle, I love everything about this boot. And of course it goes with anything, which is what you want from your basics.

Fun coat for winter? I think we all need a few to get through those long cold months. I’ve had my classics for years and it was time to add to the stable so to speak. So far I like this double breasted light pink wool coat. It has a fairly menswear inspired fit which balances out the girly color. You can see essentially the same coat in camel and with gold hardware styled here. Also bought the prettiest light pink socks in uber soft merino wool so I prance around in pink from head to toe.

If you’re looking for more coat posts as we head into winter, here’s my teddy coat which is still going strong after several years and here’s this year’s newest version of the coat, but now there are 5 other color options as well if you’re not feeling the camel.
